Today, multi-ARIA award-winning artist, Genesis Owusu shares a new music video for his recent hit single Get Inspired available now via OURNESS / AWAL.
An exponentially rising artist on a global scale, Genesis Owusu has defied genre and style to keep the limelight burning following the release of his 2021 debut album, ‘Smiling With No Teeth’. His most recent single, Get Inspired has gone on to feature in a global Apple advertisement for Apple Fitness+, and was named one of the best songs of the year by Los Angeles Times. Today, Owusu shares the stunning official video for the track, Get Inspired (A Roach Movement Video), directed by Babekuhl & Chris Yee.
Underpinned by lyrical jabs and a menacing and poetic punk hybridity, Get Inspired and Owusu’s 2022 single GTFO are also available for voting in triple j’s Hottest 100 – cast your vote HERE.
This arrival of this new music video follows on from another year of break-out highs for Owusu, which included debut tours throughout North America and Europe. These dates saw Genesis make appearances at Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Osheaga Festival in Montreal, This Ain’t No Picnic Festival in California and Austin City Limits, as well as Berlin’s Berghain and Primavera Sound in Barcelona. He also supported Khruangbin in Austin alongside Thundercat, and joined Glass Animals for a string of US shows, before rounding out the year with an Australian tour supporting Tame Impala.
2023 will see Genesis make further festival appearances in Australia and New Zealand throughout February and March, before embarking on another US tour with Paramore and Bloc Party throughout May and June.
