In the lead up to their upcoming Regional(ish) Tour, Australian Punk Heroes Sly Withers today share their brand new music video for Liar. Giving fans a solid peek behind the scenes and what truly goes down when the group are on tour and performing nationally. The music video was shot by the band’s “pal and video lord” Tim Elphick – who joined them on the road capturing the group’s biggest live tour to date, in support of their Top 10 ARIA Chart album, ‘Overgrown’ (2022).
Co-frontman, Sam Blitvich shares “Bringing our pal/video lord Tim Elphick on a national tour has been a bucket list thing for us for a long time, and it was so sick to finally be able to do it on the Overgrown album tour late last year. The resulting video clip Tim’s made from that time on the road is a nice memento of one of the most special tours we’ve ever done. It’s also a bit of an accidental sequel to a similar clip we did for a song called Good Days Bad Days a few years ago, where we took Tim on a short regional tour of WA and had him make a similar clip of that experience. It’s pretty cool to see the growth our band has had in the time between the two similar clips.”
Co-frontman and vocalist on Liar, Jono Mata reflects, “The Overgrown tour was the biggest we had undertaken in our careers to date, and I remember feeling nervous about the scale of these shows and the rooms we were trying to fill in the lead up to hitting the road. Tim has always been there to capture our most special moments in a way only he can, from the silly smiles we flick each other on stage to the dumb things we get up to behind the scenes and everything in between. Being able to look back on these shows and see how much fun we had along with the reactions of people in the crowd, it’s a really solid reminder of why we do what we do and how strong the community we have built around this band is.”
