Indie-rocker JESSEY NAPA Releases New Single ‘Only Thing I Needed’

Jump in your car, roll down the windows and drive to your nearest beach, because Sydney-based singer-songwriter Jessey Napa has released Only Thing I Needed, the song for your summer.

Only Thing I Needed is a guitar-driven indie-rock song about trying to find things that make you happiest in life. Recorded at the world-famous Studio 301 with producer Stewart Geddes (Lime Cordiale, Delta Goodrem, Isabella Manfredi) and mastered by Andrew Edgson (Matt Corby, Amy Shark, Tia Gostelow), this track will have your feet tapping and your head bopping.

On writing Only Thing I Needed, Jessey says “I was in a bit of rut songwriting wise when a friend of mine encouraged me to change up the way I was writing. That night I put down the guitar (my usual instrument of choice) and laid down a bass, drum and piano groove on my laptop. The instrumental must have opened something inside me because the lyrics poured straight out of me”.

He continues “The song remained quite bass and piano heavy until I decided I wanted to up the energy of the track for the live show. By adding guitars reminiscent of Kings of Leon and Catfish and the Bottlemen, I was able to take the energy of the song to a new level”.

Jessey‘s previous single Dixie received airplay on Triple J as well as community radio across Australia.

To celebrate the release of Only Thing I Needed, Jessey will be playing a free show at The Townie in Newtown, Sydney on November 5th alongside fellow Sydney musician Machine On A Break.

Only Thing I Needed is available to stream on October 27th
