Constructing dreamy indie pop soundscapes is something that Sydney’s Jet City Sports Club are masters of, at this stage of their career, and their new track Drug Store (Waste My Time) puts this on full display.

Drug Store (Waste My Time), at its core, is a love song, told from the perspective of someone who yearns for another from afar. There’s a playful nostalgia and naivety to the song that makes it easy to sink into, jam packed with charisma largely thanks to lead singer Lilla Obradovic’s vocals.

A song that is perfect for music fans who dig artists like Middle Kids, Soccer Mommy and The Beths, Drug Store (Waste My Time) is the first piece of new music from Jet City Sports Club, and an enthusiastic insight into more new music still to come.

Jet City Sports Club have continued to go from strength to strength since landing on more radars with the release of their debut EP, ‘September Sun’, in 2021. The record has led them to share stages alongside the likes of The VANNS, CLEWS, The Grogans, Trophy Eyes and The Moving Stills; while online, the love for the group has continued to grow.

Support via media and radio tastemakers including triple j, Unearthed, The Guardian, RAGE and more have established Jet City Sports Club as a band to watch, and as they continue to grow in 2023, the Sydneysiders are showing no signs of slowing down.

The band are currently out on tour, supporting STUMPS, so we thought who better to tell us their Top 5 Tips For Touring On A Budget – and we have all the *juicy* details just for you!

1. FRIENDS
If you can, always stay with friends on the road. It’s a good way of catching up with your buddies and saving cash. The music industry is so supportive so someone usually has your back!

2. Share backline at shows
If you can equally share backline at a show, you can save space and therefore cashola! If you’re opening for a band who is on the road, as we so often are here in Sydney, offer to help with backline. What goes around comes around!

3. Pot Noodles
Yeah, this one is pretty self-explanatory. The veggie packets will have to become your best friend though.

4. Block every food and travel blog on Instagram
We don’t need to see where the best cocktail bar or high-end vegan restaurant is in every city, because we will definitely go there and blow our budget.

5. ‘Rider Spider’
If there’s a cheese plate, or drinks, get snackin’. You earned it bby. But don’t steal from other bands, that is the biggest no-no in the world.

If you haven’t got around Jet City Sports Club yet, there has never been a better time than right now! Don’t miss your last chance to catch Jet City Sports Club supporting STUMPS on their ‘Life’s Moving Past You’ Tour, which wraps up next weekend.
