Following on from recent single Drug Store (Waste My Time) in July, Sydney band Jet City Sports Club continue to craft indie-pop perfection with their new track My Everything.
Jet City Sports Club have been going from strength to strength since their inception, seamlessly weaving their introspective lyrics into dreamy indie-pop soundscapes. Conceptualised in a dream, My Everything is much more than your average love song – the sincerity of Lilla’s heartfelt vocals is propelled by a compelling rock drum beat and dynamic guitar riffs, with a festival-ready hook capable of getting any crowd going.
“My Everything was a song originally written about a dream vocalist Lilla had about a loved one being struck by lightning. The band spent a bunch of time finding more meaning in the track and have come out the other side with a symbolically rich indie-banger about being in love with someone whilst enduring a storm, and enjoying mundane things while the world is crashing down around you.” – JET CITY SPORTS CLUB
Recorded in Sydney, Jet City Sports Club worked with frequent collaborator Fletcher Matthews (CLEWS, The Buoys, Dear Seattle) on production and mixing on My Everything, with mastering from William Bowden (Spacey Jane, GOTYE).
“This was another track that we knew we were sitting on something beautiful, but had to work with our close friend and producer Fletcher Matthews to unlock its potential. It’s always amazing to see a song Lilla wrote in her room turn into these big productions, we really love her songwriting and how she lets us all help her bring it to life.” – JET CITY SPORTS CLUB
Quickly winning hearts of new fans in 2022 with releases such as Green Thumb and Feeling It All, the four-piece returned in 2023 to level things up with shimmering new track, Drug Store (Waste My Time) in July, and now adding My Everything to their run of stellar releases.
Channelling Mazzy Star meets Oasis meets Aussie indie, Jet City Sports Club have crafted a song worth the festival stages and dive bars alike. Having shared stages with the likes of The VANNS, CLEWS, The Grogans, Trophy Eyes and The Moving Stills, and spending the past few months supporting STUMPS on their national headline tour, Jet City Sports Club look forward to debuting this new single to a bunch of rooms across the country – including a hometown headline show in Sydney, before capping off a massive year with an appearance at Lost Paradise.
“This tour is going to be SO MUCH FUN! We are lucky enough for every stop to be supporting an artist we love. Canberra with our best boys STUMPS, Sydney with WA sweeties Old Mervs and Melbourne with none other than Connie Constance, an artist we’ve admired for so so so long. We’re finishing it all off with our first Headline since September ‘22 in Sydney on November 25th. We can’t wait to play ‘My Everything’ to some old and new faces, as well as debut some other new material!” – JET CITY SPORTS CLUB
