After last night’s first play on triple j’s Goodnights, JK-47 and Jay Orient return to the fore, with blistering new track Avalanche feat. Tasman Keith, OUT NOW. This is the final single from upcoming album ‘ReVision (for ReGrowth)’, due for release on Friday, 3rd November.

Opening with fanfare fit for a king, Avalanche is track in two movements. JK-47 raps with a fervour and relentlessness: They don’t understand the sh- that I’m carrying, ’til I avalanche and I bury them. The crescendo makes way for a Tasman‘s signature lilting vocals over a funk-inspired groove.

“Avalanche is the feeling of carrying so much on your shoulders that it could avalanche if someone gets disrespectful but its also about dealing with it through our music, which is why we made this track,”
said JK-47 and Tasman Keith.

‘ReVision (for ReGrowth)’ is a collaboration between JK-47 and ARIA-Award winning hip-hop artist, Jay Orient, neighbours who grew up on the NSW coast over the back fence from each other. The love of music brought them back together after going separate ways for their education.

The music video for Avalanche feat. Tasman Keith was shot in one day in Bowraville and Nambucca Heads on Gumbaynggirr Country. “We wanted to capture the Country and community of Bowra. Me and Tas connect on the same level with a lot of things and it was an honour to experience this whole process with him“, says JK-47. It was directed and edited by Joey Bailey and Kiarney Mulyono with cinematography by Joey Bailey.

Avalanche follows on from single Rain feat. Adrian Eagle which took the hip-hop community by storm following a first play on triple j’s Good Nights. It landed JK-47 and Jay Orient on playlists such as the hybridThe DripBeats ‘n’ Bars, and Apple Music’s FIRST, BLAKLIST, and Wildflower playlists.

JK is a NIMA Award-winner, and has received extensive support from triple j including Album of the Week, rotation and first plays, and achieved #76 in the Like A Version Hottest 100. Since then he’s performed a headline tour across the country, and at festivals such as Splendour In The GrassBluesfestWildlandsField DayBeyond The ValleyFirst & ForeverSt. Kilda Festival, and Adelaide Festival to name a few. JK-47 has recently been announced to play Laneway ’24 and will tour  ‘ReVision (for ReGrowth)’ in early 2024.
