Continuing on their steady rise, Kitschen Boy are adding another jangly, synth-packed anthem to their already beloved catalogue. On Notice is the latest release from the Naarm-based outfit following the release of their sophomore EP which landed support from triple j, Spotify, Rolling Stone AU, Life Without Andy & more.

The track delves into the disappointment and disdain that grows when only one half of a relationship is working to solve issues and the other half is happy to give up and walk away. On Notice comes just as the band head on the road with fan faves Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers and The Grogans during July/August for their regional co-headline tour.

Following on from a jam-packed six months for Kitschen Boy there seems to be no signs of slowing down. With their recently released sophomore EP, ‘Now Arriving At Panic Station’ receiving praise across the Australian music scene and the records key single The Perfect Excuse charting as the #8 most-played track on triple j following its addition to rotation, it is clear why fans are on the edge of their seats awaiting new music.

On Notice is a continuation of Kitschen Boy’s signature jangly sound which drips with reverb and juicy guitar atmospherics alongside the earnest storytelling of frontman, Dylan Baddeley and further highlights the attention to detail in the band’s production which is masterfully constructed by close friend Nicholas Bond who has been with the project since the very beginning. Baddeley speaks on the writing process of the song; “This song depicts the frustrating journey of ruminating and lamenting the efforts that went into a relationship that never came together. The track speaks of the disappointment and disdain gained from trying repeatedly to pull it together whilst their partner continues to postpone any action to repair the relationship. I had this track ready as a demo for quite a while and when we finally got around to working on it with Bondy it came together super fast and within a week we had it ready to go. It was one of those tracks that felt easy to make and like everyone was on the same page whilst in the studio.”

In addition to this latest release Kitschen Boy will be joining Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers and The Grogans for their regional co-headline tour in late July into early August. The tour follows Kitschen Boy selling out multiple shows on their previous East Coast headline tour as well as joining The Vaccines and Everything Everything at Melbourne’s iconic venue, The Forum.

More headline shows are also around the corner for the band which will be announced in the upcoming months. On Notice is but another invitation into the world of Kitschen Boy, dripping in Australian sunshine and infused with the influences of 80s and 90s UK rock and grunge. Take one step further into their sonic landscape and take a deep breath as the remainder of the year is set to only solidify Kitschen Boy’s name across the country and beyond.
