With not a second wasted, 874, the new single from Melbourne’s Melting, hits like sledgehammer to the head.
Blending elements of hardcore and sludge into a 2 minute metalcore frenzy is no easy feat, but this cacophony of chaos manages to do just that. 874 is violent, brooding and leaves you short of breath yet clamouring for more.
Speaking on their new single Melting had this to say: “When writing 874, we were all feeling the brunt of life. Overwhelming feelings of isolation and frustration turned into that opening riff and the rest kind of just layed itself down. We knew we were onto something when we all heard the final version of the song, the collective feeling was “this is what we have been trying to make, this is Melting”. There was a moment where it felt like the direction was clear, like we found our bearings and that really came after we made 874.”
After stamping their mark in the local scene, Melting are gearing up to release their debut full length record in very early 2025.
