Today Phoebe Go returns with a new single Taking Care Of It – the first new music we have heard from the Australian singer-songwriter since the release of her critically acclaimed debut record, ‘Marmalade‘, in May 2024. The new single follows on from Phoebe Go supporting Chet Faker at his recent headline show in Melbourne, and lands ahead of an East Coast tour playing shows in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane this December.

Taking Care Of It strikes a personal chord for Phoebe Go – “It’s a nod to resilience. It’s about being tough in a weak moment”. Digging deeper into the introspective new single, Phoebe explains “It’s about being the hero. It’s about keeping it together for the people you love. It’s about being tough in a weak moment. It wasn’t really a conscious thing but I wrote most of it in my dad’s voice. From his perspective. Then I realised that it all just sounded like me. So I guess it’s a nod to that”.

Taking Care Of It is the first new music we’ve heard from the Melbourne-via-Sydney artist since the release of her debut LP ‘Marmalade’. Featuring singles Something You Were Trying, 7 Up, Leave and Stupid, the 8-track record is hauntingly beautiful and radiantly raw. Phoebe’s poignant storytelling keeps you hanging on to every lyric.

2024 has been monumental for Phoebe Go. Earlier this year Phoebe joined Briston Maroney as a special guest on his North American headline tour, as well as hitting the road with Melbourne act Teenage Dads as their main support on their album tour across the country amongst her own headline shows throughout the year.  Last week Phoebe Go joined Chet Faker as a special guest at his ‘Built On Glass’ 10th Anniversary show at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens. This December, Phoebe will be heading on tour across the east coast to play a run of headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to celebrate the huge year that has been and the new single.
