Australian singer-songwriter and country music darling Sara Berki today shares her highly anticipated new single Looks Like, ahead of kicking off her debut headline national tour this week.
Looks Like follows the success of her debut release with Warner Music Australia, the critically praised single twice’, which became Sara’s fourth straight Top 10 single on the Countrytown Hot 50 airplay chart.
Effortlessly capturing the romance of a relationship blossoming against the backdrop of a country lifestyle, the new single draws from the experiences of all the firsts that come with the start of a relationship; the butterflies, the lust, the excitement of the unknown ahead. The release arrives as Sara prepares for her own wedding in May.
“I wrote “Looks Like” from real life experiences when I first met Pat, my fiancé. I didn’t have to make it up, it’s all real to me” notes Sara on the story behind the song. “Everything in this song happened, I remember the feeling of just being so excited for all the possibilities. I went home after the first date not being able to think about much else and a few years later, he asked me to marry him. I think so many listeners will be able to relate to my experience that inspired this song”, Sara says.
The release of the single coincides with Sara’s long-awaited debut headline tour. Starting on the 7th February, Sara will be taking the show to Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne as well as Howlin’ Country Festival in Newcastle. Along for the ride as a special support guest will be Ohioan born, Sydney based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Charlie Finn and 2024 Ekka Country Showdown winner, Mack Geiger, in Brisbane.
“I can’t wait to play “Looks Like” on tour!” adds Sara on the new track. “I’ve loved seeing it come to life in the studio and I think people are really going to connect with it in the live shows.”
