SICK VISOR Drop Debut Single + Video For Feel-Alright Anthem ‘Happy Pessimistic People Person Introvert’

Melbourne upstarts Sick Visor have launched into the world today with their debut single Happy Pessimistic People Person Introvert. Born out of lock-down jam sessions between Alex Moses (Columbus) and Katie Lovelock (Baby Shower), their debut single is a feel-alright bouncy-rock anthem for the out-going homebodies whose glass of lemonade is half empty.

Sick Visor’s mission statement is to bring childlike joy back to being grown-ups says singer Alex Moses; “We don’t feel like we’re adults yet – when we’re having the most fun, we’re usually acting like stupid children.”

Happy Pessimistic People Person Introvert is an honest diary entry about embracing who you are. “I wrote Happy Pessimistic People Person Introvert about the weirdness of our personalities, like a Myers-Briggs test of who I really am,” says Alex.

Drummer Katie Lovelock holds the same sentiments about the song, in stepping out of her comfort zone to sing on a track for the first time. “Singing [on a track] is something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the guts. In hindsight I think that suits the whole message of the song perfectly, about growing into and being okay with who you are.”

Filmed and edited by Sean Kirkpatrick and Alison Erlanger of @aecreative_space, the dynamic music video follows Sick Visor on their own Children’s TV Show – Sick School, intercut with the band’s high energy performance in a white-wall studio, reminiscent of Blink 182’s What’s My Age Again.

MORE ON SICK VISOR

Sick Visor are your new favourite feel-alright bouncy rock band and they’re here for a good time, unless their tummies hurt and they need a rest. Running on the fumes of mindless childhood joy, Melbourne based dynamic duo Alex Moses (Guitar + Vocals) and Katie Lovelock (Drums + Vocals) crush fragile adult maturity in under 3 minutes with bouncy bing bang instrumentals, soaring choruses and juvenile folly for fans of Ball Park Music, Dune Rats and TV’s Play-School. Sick Visor is the soundtrack for growing up enough that you realise we’re all stupid little children.

Sick Visor’s debut single, a diary entry about embracing who you are, Happy Pessimistic People Person Introvert is out August 18.
