Slowly but ever-so-surely the release of Slowly Slowly‘s brand new album ‘Daisy Chain’ is fast approaching; but it’s not just the album fans can look forward to this November, with Slowly Slowly‘s Ben Stewart set to perform some special acoustic shows following the album’s upcoming release on Friday 4 November. The shows will be performed as a 3 piece as reimagined versions of the songs from ‘Daisy Chain’.

Slowly Slowly will also be hosting ‘Back To Basics, Back On My Bullsh*t’ documentary screenings. The documentary’s official screening on Saturday 5 November at Thornbury Picture House in Melbourne sold out within minutes, fans who missed out will be able to witness the documentary in their own living rooms, with Mandolin‘s online screening on Wednesday 9 November. ‘Back To Basics, Back On My Bullsh*t’ is about the band sharing their creative journey over the last few years. The piece offers a deep insight into the creative process of their latest body of work ‘Daisy Chain’ whilst being punctuated by explosive performances at the iconic Melbourne venue The Forum—a long awaited and postponed hometown celebration signifying their return to normality, armed with a fresh perspective after the extensive lockdowns. It allows a peek behind the curtain for those who have been following the journey of the band since it’s humble beginnings in 2015 and foreshadows an exciting future for the project.

“Oh how one recoils when forced to watch themselves back. I guess this is why bands don’t do this sort of thing very often? But for those who follow us closely, for those who care about us as artists and performers, I imagine this will be of value. The last few years were as tumultuous as we have known and it feels like a bookending of sorts to release this piece. This serves just as much a time capsule of where we are now as also a road sign to where we are headed—I think I quite like both. And most of all, I love our fans and this seems like a moment we can celebrate them on screen, where they should be. We look forward to sitting in discomfort, surrounded by the comfort of those who keep us going. Wonderful stuff!” says Ben Stewart.

In conjunction with the documentary and the impending new album, Ben Stewart will also be bringing some acoustic charm to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane armed with ‘Daisy Chain’ and plenty of Slowly Slowly fan-favourites, kicking off on Monday 7 November at The Vanguard in Sydney and closing out at Lefty’s Music Hall in Brisbane on Thursday 10 November.

Ben adds, “With the help of our dear friend Sam Elliott, we have reimagined a slew of songs, both old & new, across vastly different landscapes. The songs have been stripped down to the feelings in which they started, enjoying some R&R in the piano spotted dreamscapes we have newly built for them. Order a wine, wear something nice, it’s going to be sophisticated. Real f*cking sophisticated.”

Having recently completed a regional tour of Australia, Slowly Slowly are armed and ready to charm with their sublime new album ‘Daisy Chain’. Marking the beloved Melbourne group’s most ambitious and uninhibited showing to date, ‘Daisy Chain’ balances vulnerability with expertly-crafted earworms, with Stewart also at the helm on production duties. Following on from 2020’s ‘Race Car Blues’ and 2021’s ‘Race Car Blues 2’, get set to fall head (and ears) over heels this Friday 4 November when Slowly Slowly‘s album #5 finally unfurls, with the accompanying documentary and acoustic live shows adding the ultimate icing to the top of the  ‘Daisy Chain’ adventure.
