Without a doubt, The Jungle Giants have had a bigger – and busier – few months than most.
While completing an extensive regional tour with dates across Australia and New Zealand, the band delivered a roof-raising cover of Underworld’s rave classic Born Slippy (Nuxx) for Triple j’s Like A Version, setting fire to the internet and surpassing 100,000 views in just a matter of weeks. Today, The Jungle Giants release the latest single, Where Can I Put All My Love, from their critically and commercially acclaimed album ‘Experiencing Feelings Of Joy’.
Accompanying the release is a gloriously nostalgic video that pays winking homage to the shimmering sci-fi landscapes of the ’80s and Blade Runner, perfectly mirroring the track’s lush, sweetly melancholic electropop glow.
Of the genesis of the track, frontman Sam Hales says: “There were definitely a couple of years where I was struggling, processing some painful thoughts and I had regressed into some triggering places. One day I sat on my friend Johnny from the DMA’s couch and started twanging on the guitar and messing about with some chords, and I just let it go and started singing what was inside of me. “Where can I put all my love” were the first words that came out, which felt really real and really nice. To put that into a song was a turning point for me. It felt good, and it felt therapeutic. There was a lot of questions going through my mind and that was the biggest one”.
After wrapping up their biggest-ever tour across Australia and New Zealand this month, The Jungle Giants will head to North America, Canada and Mexico throughout September and October, before returning home to light up the Australian summer festival circuit with appearances at Lost Paradise and Beyond The Valley.
