Tarndanya/Adelaide-based indie-pop artist TUSHAR has shared his feel-good new single Bloodshot Eyes – produced by long-time collaborator Benny Tamblyn (MANE) and mastered by Mario Späte (Meg WashingtonTkay MaizdaElsy Wameyo).

Bloodshot Eyes unfolds with reverberant guitars and a charismatic rhythm section, seamlessly intertwining with TUSHAR‘s intimate vocals that are draped in a warm, slightly subdued tone. The chorus inserts a distinct charm, captivating a nostalgic embrace as the authentic storytelling carries a retro allure.

TUSHAR talks about the inspiration behind Bloodshot Eyes: “I walked into a session with Benny and before we started writing, he told me about an experience he had over the weekend with an aggressive person. We dove into the story, and how he had met this guy at a party for the first time. What seemed like an okay guy, quickly turned into an angry, hyper masculine person looking for a fight. Benny said to me that he just didn’t want to ‘talk to him anymore’ but didn’t know how to tell him nicely without angering him. Six hours later, the song was written, recorded and finished!”

In the live arena, TUSHAR recently performed at notable music event SXSW (USA) sharing the stage with King StingrayFloodlights and Annie Hamilton. Along with this, he sold-out his previous headline show and will be supporting MANE on her upcoming national tour.

TUSHAR was recently nominated for the ‘People’s Choice Award’ (Pop) in the 2023 South Australian Music Awards. Previous releases have been widely embraced by triple j, triple j Unearthed and Australian community radio stations.
