Brisbane based indie-rock trio Bean Magazine are kickstarting 2025 with the release of their brand new single, Free As Hell. Immediately capturing the essence of a classic Bean Magazine song, this track is a euphoric exploration of letting go of something you thought would solve all your problems.

This is the first taste of new music following 2024’s EP ‘In The Shade‘ which marked their first release via Purple Phase / Warner Music Australia.

Of the song lead singer Henry Creamer says, “Convincing yourself you’re better off without the thing you desire deeply can be freeing if you choose to spin it as such. When you stop letting that obsession dictate your life, you realize that you have the power to do and be whatever you want. The world is no longer limited to a single outcome or dream. You can now do and be whatever the fuck you want”.

Alongside the single release, Bean Magazine have announced they are hitting the road with Brisbane royalty Ball Park Music for a 10-date national tour throughout May and June. Kicking off in Forth, Tasmania on Friday 22 May, they will then hit Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra.

Produced by Sam Cromack from Ball Park Music, last year’s EP ‘In The Shade’ featured the singles Old Or Young, Chicken, Nobody Wore Shoes, FIRE and Don’t You Die. This upcoming tour with Ball Park Music feels like a pure celebration of all the hard work Bean Magazine have been doing with Sam behind the scenes and acts as a showcase for this highly anticipated next chapter.

Henry Creamer (guitars and vocals), Gabrielle Beiers (drums) and Seb Baren (bass) effortlessly blend punk energy, sensitive lyrical sensibilities and classic rock riffs to create songs that will never leave your head. 2024 saw them hitting the road supporting The Rubens, Hockey Dad and Rum Jungle on their respective tours, as well as performing at BIGSOUND and SXSW Sydney.

Bean Magazine have already noted themselves as an impressive live band, with Good Call Live noting “Henry Creamer hits the mic with the gusto of an enraged grunge idol from the 90’s, spraying an energy straight from the get go … the crowd has some new faces, all of which are in awe of what just occurred”.
