Brisbane based songwriter Benny Elder spent his days out in the mines and his nights with a guitar with a dream for himself. A mechanical engineer by trade but a storyteller by heart, so knowing that he decided it’s time to take a leap of faith, and has begun turning his music dreams into reality. Following on from Gotta Make It On Your Own earlier this year, Benny is back with his latest single Longing for Change. Much like his previous release this year, Benny thought this track would be done by Brisbane’s best with engineering and mixing coming from Darek Mudge out of Brisbane’s renown Airlock Studios. Mastering for Longing For Change was later done by Matt Gray out of Matthew Gray Mastering.

Longing for change is for everyone out there that works themselves to the bone chasing big dreams, and a life they think is going to make them happy. It’s coming to the realisation that enjoying the journey is the most important part of the process, and trying to slow down and observe what’s around them before it’s gone is the secret to fulfillment.

At 12 years old Benny discovered his love for music when gifted Blink 182‘s self-titled album, however, it wasn’t until ten years later he would begin crafting his own songwriting; taking influence from Blink 182 as well as artists like Passenger, Bob Dylan, Machine Gun Kelly, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran & Luke Combs.

Benny will be launching his latest single on August 12 at The Cave Inn in Brisbane alongside fellow Brisbane artists Alexander Mills and Sue Ray, doors will be at 7pm and we can’t wait to see you there!
