Eora/Sydney-based alternative-pop artist Darcy Lane has today revealed her effervescent accompanying music video for recent single 2022 Without You, premiered with Australian tastemakers triple j Unearthed.

The clip was written by the artist herself alongside director Acacia Reynolds and filmed by Liam Mahoney (Teel Studios), with the latter teaming up to edit the film.

From the opening shot to its bubbling finale, the video for 2022 Without You matches the song’s spirited energy with candid, colourful scenes that portray the track’s lyrical content with a timely plot. Featuring Darcy Lane‘s graceful performances against backdrops of a rooftop sunset and a lively New Year’s Eve party, with kaleidoscopic imagery that ties into the artwork aesthetic, the video is a brilliant nod to the sentiment of self-love and long-term growth.

Darcy Lane explains the plot for 2022 Without You: “The clip details the year after a breakup and finding fun in being single and doing things by yourself. The video showcases my time through the year 2022, kicking things off with heartbreak, and explores having a great time in your own company. The story builds to a 2022 NYE party where everyone finds themselves having a good time; the ex and his new partner are there but I take no notice as I am happy doing me and living my best life.”

2022 Without You has been Darcy Lane‘s standout release so far, having been added to a slew of Apple Music playlists, and receiving widespread support from triple j, FBi Radio, 2SER, SYN Media, JOY FM, 4ZZZ, KSSU (USA), The AU Review, Good Call Live, and Conversations About Her (UK).
