Tandanya/Adelaide-based pop-punk band Down And Out have unveiled their latest single Lost [In Exposure] – produced and mixed by ARIA-Nominated producer Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly, RedHook) and mastered by Grant Berry of Fader Mastering.

Lost [In Exposure] is an unapologetic pop-punk anthem, layered with a myriad of hook-laden melodies. The emotively-charged vocals from endearing frontman, Luke Ganeo, hover amid deftly arranged instrumentation and a resounding rhythmic section. Emmy Mack‘s unmistakable vocals aptly compliment, as the enigmatic frontwoman showcases her depth with an infectious energy. The track’s momentum charges into the gradual crescendo, led by David Potter‘s meticulously composed guitar work, capped off by a tender acoustic outro.

Down And Out talk about the inspiration behind Lost [In Exposure]“Lost [In Exposure] is about realising I’m at a point in my life where music is becoming the only viable option. I was told by everyone around me that it was a pipe dream so I went to Uni, then I got a job and I did all the things I was supposed to do, and it always felt like there was a hole inside me. I got to a point where I looked around at what my life was one day and went “If I have to do this for the rest it my life I’m gonna kill myself”. Playing music, no matter how poor I am, no matter how little sleep I get, no matter how difficult and taxing it is, is the only thing that will ever truly make me feel alive and fulfilled. I always thought music was something I wanted to do, but once I put it on the back burner I realised it’s something I have to do.”

Drawing inspiration from bands like Stand Atlantic, Waterparks and The Story So Far, Down And Out have quickly gained a reputation for their infectious energy and dynamic live performances. The band have proven their eagerness to experiment with a cross-genre sound, combining elements of pop-punk and electronic music, captivating listeners and solidifying themselves as fierce up-and-comers.
