Fresh from their sold-out capital city debut national headline tour, with capacity crowds in Naarm/Melbourne, Eora/Sydney, Meanjin/Brisbane, Tandanya/Adelaide and Boorloo/Perth (750 tickets), WA-based indie-rock trio Fool Nelson return with a radiant, introspective single Bad Dreams – produced and mixed by Andy Lawson (Noah Dillon, Mitch Santiago, Death By Denim).

Bad Dreams sees the group play to their strengths of anthemic, sun-soaked grooves and captivating hooks, punctuated with spacious refrains. Tom Broadbent‘s passionate vocals blend warmth with a touch of unpolished grit to deliver stirring melodies exploring the cycles of negativity shaping our perception of the world. Rollicking leads weave through layers of reverb-soaked guitars, pulsing basslines and upbeat drums to give the song a bittersweet edge with a dash of timeless nostalgia.

Fool Nelson talk about the inspiration behind Bad Dreams: “Bad Dreams is a song about the ebbs and flows of mental health and how anxiety can really cloud your perspective and stop you from seeing the good things in life. It’s a reflection on times when everything seems like it’s gone to crap, but also a reminder to step back and appreciate the good things that help get you through those hard times. It’s got a sort of cathartic feeling and an optimism that we hope acts as a bit of a reminder that it’ll all be alright.”

The band are currently gearing up to support Skegss on their upcoming ‘TOP HEAVY’ National Tour alongside The Buoys in June/July. The trio will also make a pit stop back on the West Coast to support Old Mervs at Perth High Performance Centre. This continues on from being support-act favs for Ball Park MusicGreat GableThe Grogans, The RionsThe Moving StillsRa Ra Viper and Old Mervs, and notching impressive sets at HYPER FESTOut & About FestivalGroovin the Moo Festival, Tone City Records Festival, and NYE On The Hill.
