With the release of their fierce and forthright new single Mind Your Own today, Sydney’s 51st Avenue have shared the energetic new music video for the track, exclusively with us at Good Call Live, ahead of its official release later this week. Captured by renowned filmmaker Oliver Clark (A Swift Farewell, Heavensgate), the band perform in a basement, with lights, props and space all used to present different dynamics throughout the video.

Mind Your Own is a track about singer Alynnis Zizza’s journey within motherhood, as a musician, she is both proud and confident in celebrating her pregnancy throughout the video.

Speaking about the video shoot, the band shared that Oliver Clark’s creativity and expertise allowed them to enter the shoot without a solid plan and more room to create and play.

“Working with Oliver Clark of Dunelabs is always a pleasure and a breeze! We had one location and utilized the space and lights and even random furniture to really set the mood. With less of a solid plan, we find we’re able to play around with a lot more. We even shot some impromptu takes of the music video in the car park of the location!” – 51st Avenue

51st Avenue have rapidly made a name for themselves across Sydney and the broader Australian alternative music community. With a string of shows sharing stages with Young Lions, The Beautiful Monument, Eat Your Heart Out & NORA, the band have also toured nationally with their debut headline run across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Newcastle late in 2022. triple j’s ‘Short. Loud’ has been a big supporter of the band, with a First Play on their last single, as well as previous airplay, with tastemakers Wall of Sound, Heavy Magazine & Scenestr also supporting. 200,000+ streams across DSP’s sees 51st Avenue poised to capitalize on their rapidly emerging fanbase in 2023. Alongside this, the band’s Twitch channel has seen them streaming regularly, with 1000+ followers on this platform.
