Forged deep in the fiery pits of the underworld, the Battlesnake rises up to take the earth by storm….
The lovechild of Queen, Tenacious D, Judas Priest and Gwar; Battlesnake are a unique beast within the Australian music scene. The cult metallers are knocking at the door of what all underdogs dream of but few ever experience.
Twelve months ago they were playing at a small, sweaty dive bar in Sydney on a Sunday night. Nine months ago they received the call that every child who has ever picked up a guitar has fantasised about. The voice on the other end of the line asked “How do you feel about opening for KISS?” Fortunately for Battlesnake, after thousands of hours, blood sweat and beers, this was a call they had been prepared for. Their answer; “A hometown show at Qudos Bank Arena on the last ever Kiss tour, yeah let us check our diary!” Needless to say they rocked the house and made many a new fan!
Fast forward six months from the thunderous reception they received from the KISS crowd, Battlesnake are now on the eve of touring Australia with The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction and Amyl & The Sniffers. All of this in the span of 12 months begs the question… What’s in store for Battlesnake over the next 12 months?
A killer new single for starters;
Welcome to the BeelzeBanquet, a demonic feast for infernal beings to celebrate and indulge in their wicked desires. The air is thick with the stench of sulfur as the demons sit around a massive table made of bones, feasting on all manner of depravity. The BeelzeBanquet is a time of excess and debauchery, with the demons gratuitously gorging on pleasures of exotica and narcotica, gasoline and amphetamine, plundering mind-bending powders and lighting diesel-fuelled funeral pyres.
Darkness and malevolence builds like a reckless storm cloud as the demons revel in their power and depravity. This infamous event, also known as the Devil’s Dinner, is a truly terrifying sight. Few mortals ever witness the BeelzeBanquet and survive to tell the tale.
With its Brian May inspired guitar harmonies, Rocky Horror vocal delivery and a fuzz induced riff that will be in your head for days, Beelzebanqet is your new favourite road tripping track!
There is more mayhem to come from Battlesnake soon. Until then, enjoy the Banquet!
Battlesnake drop their self titled album on May 12.
