The Kite String Tangle is bringing his euphoric blend of live electronic music back to airwaves (and airpods) with ‘Lustre’. 2023 finds The Kite String Tangle more assured than ever of the path ahead, one that’s filled with pulsating, moody electronica underpinning playful vocals delving into brighter, more positive themes. “It’s probably the happiest I’ve ever been with a record… I feel like it’s more cohesive, there’s themes of positivity and change, which have been for the greater good” Danny shares.
‘Lustre’ features The Kite String Tangle’s first propulsive single Fist Fight, a drama-drenched slice of club-ready electronica as well as instrumentals that effortlessly traverses the spaces between darkness and light, like the tribal-infused Euclidean and glitched out Good Catch. The 12 x track record also features A New Day, a single that perfectly encapsulates the entire mood of ‘Lustre’. “No matter what happens you’ll wake up tomorrow and can make different choices and create your own new path and that idea is really liberating.”
As well as his most recent release Miles Away, at once a driving, almost proggy take on house music, propelled forward by Harley’s signature soaring vocals that feels like the producer himself is picking listeners up to come on this journey with him. “It doesn’t feel like I’m doing the same kind of music I was doing three years ago, and definitely not six years ago, so it feels like progression and I hope it resonates with people, but most importantly it resonates with me… You need to be able to look back in 10 years and say that was the best I could do at that time and I stand by it.” And now it’s the world’s turn to stand by as one of electronic music’s most unmistakable voices begins to reveal his future, one equally at home in the darkest club as it is on the brightest stage.
