Known for their incredible taste when it comes to collaborations, Barley Passable are not slowing down as they’ve tapped Australian pop queen Abby Bella May to join them on their new track Dial Tone. Releasing today, the song is the second for the year and comes with the announcement of the next EP ‘Together’, coming June 13th.

Dial Tone was written over many sessions, over many continents with friends; Abby Bella May and Oscar Sharah. Like much of the recent music from Barley Passable, Dial Tone is about change, growth and the realities of love ~ a subject especially important to Abby and Oscar, having both recently moved overseas.

On the song, the band say “Dial Tone is set after a breakup, and is about dealing with talking to someone every single day of your life to suddenly not at all. There are so many little things that change with a breakup that generally aren’t really talked about when people deal with the end of a relationship and we wanted to write about those mundanities that can be so devastating. You have to accept that some things come to an end; as so often, that is just love.”

Dial Tone is the final single from the band before the release of their EP ‘Together’ which will feature a collection of Barley Passable‘s best as well as collaborations with local and international connections.

The band have been playing non stop, playing alongside Ninajirachi at the Yours and Owls NYE party in Wollongong and supporting The Moving Stills as well as their own headline show as part of Great Southern Nights.
