Featuring moving releases You Before Me, Black Swan and focus track Under-Deeper, ‘Fire In The Sky’ spotlights JESA’s raw and intuitive storytelling, offering moments of reflection, relatability and growth.
JESA talks through what ‘Fire In The Sky’ means to her, “This EP is about reclaiming your passion for life. It’s about the journey’s we go through internally to find our power. It travels through the darkest corners of depression, severe anxiety, insecurities and the pain it takes to reach a door at the bottom of the ocean where a new wisdom, hope and love for self is discovered.â€
Opening ‘Fire In The Sky’ is Fighting With A Mirror. A profound track that echoes JESA’s activism, Fighting With A Mirror breaks down society’s toxic stigmas before moving onto psychedelic-drenched focus track Under-Deeper that sees JESA share her personal struggles with mental health.
Blues-infused track three Black Swan serves as a gentle reminder to reach out when facing tough times as flourishing track four You Before Me heals hearts with its uplifting aura. Charming and tender Keep Walking stays true to JESA’s signature folk-pop sound, inspired by child-like innocence, making a vibrant close to the EP.
Strumming on the road, JESA is gracing QLD and NSW stages with her captivating ‘Fire In The Sky’ tour. Wrapping up her shows in Eltham and Brisbane, JESA moves onto Stray Espresso in Evans Head on Saturday 5 November, Jams Bar in Newcastle on Thursday 10 November and 107 Projects in Sydney on Thursday 17 November.
Continuing to take the reins in her creative career, JESA will release ‘Fire In The Sky’ across Bandcamp in a move to spotlight the importance of paying artists for their work.
A creative, performer and activist force from Northern Rivers, JESA’s dedication to her craft has not gone unrecognised. JESA won hearts with her debut single You Before Me being premiered on triple j’s Roots ‘N All, before going on to receive praise far and wide and opening for Kim Churchill.
