Naarm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter KEZRA is set to release her liberating new single Insane – produced by Mark Zito (Fractures).

Insane is a powerful dose of pure indie-pop brilliance mixed with spellbinding lyrics, led by KEZRA‘s delicate yet captivating vocals, carrying the listener’s complete and undivided attention throughout. KEZRA uses her songwriting to capture hauntingly ethereal soundscapes where music and story-telling meet. The dreamy pop-infused synth and expansive drums create an addictive, solitary chorus, before the track enters its sombre bridge, leaving you dazzled and bound, craving more by the final chorus.

KEZRA talks about the inspiration behind Insane: “Insane is that exaggerated fight you had with your partner that gives you internal rage, and fills you with emotions and questions such as ‘why the hell am I still living here?’ You then realise that both of you are just as crazy as each other, and that’s what makes it work. We need people who can keep us on our toes, push us to the edge of the unknown and completely drive us insane – at least for a little while.”

KEZRA‘s previous single Back Home had been widely embraced by triple j, triple j Unearthed and Australian community radio. In the blogosphere, her tracks have been supported by the likes of Atwood Magazine (USA), Eat This Music, Australian Music Scene, Good Call Live, AAA Backstage, and Something You Said. Her music videos have also seen support from MTV Upload.

KEZRA is quickly showing her capabilities to write uniquely emotive songs, drawing inspiration from indie-pop powerhouses Holly Humberstone, Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers. In the live arena, she has graced the stage of Let Go Fest with the likes of G Flip, Mallrat and Slum Socialable. KEZRA has also performed at large-scale sporting events such as the Australian Open and the F1 Melbourne Grand Prix.
