Eora/Sydney-based alt-rock force RedHook today unleash their heaviest song yet, Off With Your Head – produced by Stevie Knight (Stand AtlanticYours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (UnderoathParamore). ‘Off With Your Head’ will feature on RedHook‘s debut album ‘Postcard From A Living Hell’, which is slated for release on Friday, April 21.

Off With Your Head is a crushing, politically-charged metalcore rave monster powered by venomous lyrics that rage against various types of mob-fuelled injustice, from the conservative war on women’s bodies to the dark side of cancel culture.

Singer Emmy Mack explains the inspiration behind the track: “I wrote the lyrics to ‘Off With Your Head’ at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, appalled, and devastated by a number of horrifying injustices going on in the world around me. Over in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade robbed women and girls of the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, the consequences of which I, along with many others, knew would be deadly and devastating. While in my own backyard, I watched on in horror as cancel culture was weaponised by a sick person with a cruel vendetta to destroy an innocent woman I loved and admired. I felt sick with anger, and powerless to do anything about it, so I poured everything I had into this song.”

The song comes packing a dark, fiery, blood-soaked music video directed by Kim Quint (Northlane, Polaris), which features Emmy performing as she’s being burned alive at a stake, and the other members of RedHook being decapitated by an executioner.

RedHook will support the release of Off With Your Head with their biggest national headlining tour yet, visiting fans across 11 regional and metro stages in Jinibara / Maroochydore, Meanjin / Brisbane, Jellurgal / Burleigh Heads, Goomburrup / Bunbury, Boorloo / Perth, Tandanya / Adelaide, Ngunnawal / Canberra, Naarm / Melbourne, Dharawal / Wollongong, Mulubinba / Newcastle and Eora / Sydney this April and May, with support from Bad/LoveBelle Haven and Grenade Jumper.

Off With Your Head follows on from previous singles Soju feat. Sly WithersSAY and Jabberwocky, all of which have been added to high rotation on triple j, and will also feature on the forthcoming ‘Postcard From A Living Hell’ LP.

They also received widespread support from SpotifyApple MusicAmazon MusicBBC Radio 1 (UK), Kerrang! Radio (UK), Rock Sound (UK), triple j UnearthedNMERolling Stone and HEAVY Mag. The music videos for each single were collectively added to ABC‘s rage.

RedHook are gaining momentum from a meteoric 2022, which saw the band complete their biggest ever national headline tour, as well as a 28-date regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake. They also made their celebrated return to Australia’s Good Things Festival, becoming the first band ever to grace the lineup twice, going from Eora/Sydney openers in 2018 to national stage 5 headliners in 2022. The band also made their critically acclaimed debuts at Australia’s Groovin the Moo and UNIFY Gathering festivals, and two of the biggest heavy music festivals on the planet, Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park; a feat few Australian bands can claim.
