Meanjin/Brisbane-based indie-rock band Reckless Coast have returned with their spirited single Burn Street – produced by Cody McWaters (The Chats, King Stingray) and mixed by Jono Frowd.
Burn Street ignites with vibrant chugging guitars before Jaeden Ogston‘s vocals, exuding both grit and authenticity, soar above the propelling instrumentation. As the rhythm section kicks in, it drives an irresistible groove, crafting a stadium-sized atmosphere.
Reckless Coast talk about the inspiration behind Burn Street: “Burn Street is the location of my first share house. It was like a little family… picture the most ideal and perfect home/living situation and that’s what it was like. However, after only 8 months, the lease came up for renewal and we all parted our separate ways. The share houses that followed never came close to being like Burn Street, and I realised that it would be the closest thing to a home I had.”
To coincide with the release, the band have announced an east coast tour of Australia, with dates across Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, Meanjin/Brisbane and Mulubinba/Newcastle. The band have previously supported the likes of The Delta Riggs, The Southern River Band, Press Club and have sold out multiple shows across their hometown.
In the coming weeks, Reckless Coast will reveal an accompanying music video for Burn Street.
