Next month, The Amity Affliction will unleash their eagerly awaited new album ‘Not Without My Ghosts’, with a string of recent singles indicating it will be one of their heaviest records yet. Ahead of its May 12 release, the band have today shared the album’s title track, Not Without My Ghosts feat. phem, plus an official music video.

Featuring LA-based alt-pop artist phem, The Amity Affliction frontman Joel Birch says the new track is about “the way you can’t travel through life without dragging the ghosts of your past behind you, and how they manifest in their various forms.”

This October, The Amity Affliction will embark on a national tour in support of the album, with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth. For tickets and more information click HERE.

Not Without My Ghosts feat. phem is the fourth single lifted from the record, following It’s Hell Down Here, I See Dead People and Show Me Your God. Self-produced at Grove Studios in New South Wales, the band say the album “mostly deals with the paradox of not wanting to be alive, and yet needing to stay here, while also mourning the loss of friends and trying to use the music as catharsis.

Last year, The Amity Affliction sold out a national headline tour in support of their previous album ‘Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them’, closing out the year with appearances at Good Things Festival. In 2021, the band released a trio of singles – Like Love, Give Up The Ghost and Somewhere Beyond The Blue.

Over the last nearly 20 years, The Amity Affliction has garnered millions of fans who deeply resonate with the band, driving both streams and kudos for the lineup. Four records in a row—2012’s ‘Chasing Ghosts’; ‘Let the Ocean Take Me’ (2014); ‘This Could Be Heartbreak’ (2016); and ‘Misery’ (2018), debuted at #1 on Australia’s ARIA Charts. In the U.S., ‘Let The Ocean Take Me’ and ‘This Could Be Heartbreak’ both debuted in the top 30 Billboard Top 200, while ‘Misery’ elevated the band to new critical heights, helping the band reach a total stream tally that has surpassed a billion.
